Kastella Beauty Company - Introduction & Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar Review

Hi Lovelies

Today I want to introduce you to a new Korean beauty online store - this one is only for my US readership unfortunately as it is a US based store. But for those of you outside the US I hope you'll check this post out anyway as I have a Tony Moly lip gloss to review, that may be of interest to you ^^

Kastella Beauty Company is a fairly new store - they are Los Angeles based, and boast a nice range of popular Korean beauty brands that we all know and love, such as Tony Moly, Holika Holika, and Mizon.

The website is clean and easy to navigate, which I can always appreciate, and at a quick glance I can see that the pricing is reasonable across many products. No harsh mark ups that I can spot.

What I think you'll also love is that all orders over $25 get free shipping!

Now I can only review from a blogger's point of view, rather than a customer as I live outside of the US, and was kindly sent a media kit by Kastella Beauty for review. However I feel like from what I've explored of the site, it looks like a good source of popular beauty brands for those of you in the US who love Korean beauty.

But anyway, let me proceed onwards.

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar Review

Inside the very prettily packaged parcel was a colourful assortment of goodies.

For any of you into Korean beauty you must've come across Tony Moly at least once or twice? Tony Moly is well known for having cute and affordable products, with a lot of food or animal themed packaging.

The Petite Bunny Gloss is very Tony Moly-esque. There's a whole range of these hydrating, glossy, and lightly tinted lip products. What makes them so appealing is not only the different tints available, but also the bunny themed packaging.

Each bunny colour corresponds to the tint colour, and has differing facial expressions across the range - too cute!

But enough on aesthetics, let's get to the performance.

Tony Moly calls these gloss bars - and they are basically that - buttery balms that finish on the lips with a glossy sheen, and a hint of tinted colour.

Swatch: Juicy Peach

The variant I have is Juicy Peach, which smells a bit like fruity bubblegum. It's quite pleasant.

The gloss bars are formulated with Vitamin E and berry complex, so the formula is meant to moisturise and nourish the lips, while providing a hint of colour.

I love layering it over a slightly deeper pink lip tint, as it gives my lips a shiny and milky peach sheen. My lips are a bit pigmented, so I find this paler, less pigmented gloss a bit too pale on my bare lips.

This shade would be good if you like a very natural colour, or if you have paler lips. I found the gloss bar to apply very smoothly to the lips - think of it more as a balm than a gloss. It certainly does have a slick balm texture that feels hydrating on the lips, yet it finishes with a glossy sheen and a tint of milky pieach colouring that makes my lips look innocent and cute.

The one and only thing I didn't like about the gloss bar is that it does highlight flaky or very dry lips. Because there is a tint in the bar it will tend to colour in and highlight cracks and flakes on the lips. So while it has a hydrating formula, be aware that it can highlight less than smooth lips.

But this doesn't deter me from wanting other shades in the range! I just have to drink more water since my lips do tend to dry out easily >.<

  6. Love the packaging of this gloss bar! I have it in the same color and I agree, it does highlight crackes and flakes on the lips and my lips aren't even that dry. I also puchased the neon ones and I love love love those, I find them to be more moisturizing and don't accentuate the flakes on my lips. I even finished the orange one and had to buy another one, I can't leave the house without these babies~ But I always seem to lose the yellow one, poor bunny ㅠㅠ
