First Review of the Year! Innisfree Green Tea Seed Cream

Innisfree is a brand that has been rocketing up my list of favourite brands throughout the year, and is now right up there with Etude House. They may not have the prettiest or cutest packaging, but the quality of their products, combined with their eco-friendly packaging, and green tea infused products has really caught my attention.

Innisfree Green Tea Seed Cream Review

My newest Innisfree purchase was the quite raved about Green Tea Seed Cream - I wanted something light yet very hydrating for my dry-normal skin, for when I travel to KL later this month, and this cream had been on my wishlist for some time.

I thought the light looking texture looked cooling enough for the hot and humid weather, and reviews claimed it was hydrating enough for Summer too. I was convinced to give it a go~

Described as an antioxidant cream, this moisturiser contains Jeju green tea, amino acids, and minerals. Innisfree claims the light gel-like formula creates clear and dewy skin, which is hydrated for a long time.

The packaging is sturdy, and the deep green packaging fits the eco-friendly/green tea range concept well. It's not girlie nor cute, but I suppose it's still aesthetically pleasing enough (why am I so superficial, haha).

It's very travel friendly, with solid packaging and a secure lid.

The moisturiser itself has that 'Innisfree' scent that I've come to know and love. Many Innisfree products have an earthy, herbal scent, which admittedly won't appeal to everyone - however I quite like it!

Texture wise the cream is somewhat of a mix between cream and gel - light, a bit slippery, and quite soothing to apply. Not a lot is needed for the whole face, and despite the light texture of the cream, it does indeed leave a hydrating sensation. I find the cream makes my skin feel supple and as if the moisture in my skin is being protected, and it also lets my bb cream apply nice and smooth over the top

It leaves the skin with a bit of a dewy finish, which I find disappears once bb cream is applied. If you apply it without makeup after, a bit of that dewy finish remains. Those who prefer an invisible or matte like finish may not like the dewy finish, but I find once bb cream is applied there is very little dewiness left.

I have dry-normal skin and found this product very suitable - if my skin was particularly dehydrated I could layer without any issues, though most of the time one application was enough for me. Those with extremely dry skin may find this cream not quite hydrating enough - there is a 'Deep' Green Tea Seed cream in the range that may be more suitable.

As for the cons, I can't really pinpoint anything major. I guess I would've liked a bit of anti-ageing, or skin repairing properties in the formula? But I have heard Green Tea has anti-ageing fighting properties...and I would've like a slightly bigger product too, as I feel like I'm getting through it quite quickly even though I only use it in the mornings.

Other than that I highly recommend this cream! It's currently ranked #2 on my list of fave moisturisers, after Mizon's Snail Repair Cream (I like the hydrating texture of the green tea cream more, but the snail cream has better skincare benefits).

Anyways, I would happily repurchase the green tea seed cream, it's a lovely day cream~

Have you tried any green tea skincare before?

Thanks for reading

xoxo Tulip

  14. It's nice and light, but still hydrating, so a great Summer cream overall. Hehe, it would be nice to have cuter packaging, but I guess it wouldn't fit the natural concept >.<
