Etude House Moistfull Super Collagen CC Cream (Light Beige NO2) Review

Evening Cuties!

It's time for (yet) another Etude House review ^^

Etude House Moistfull Super Collagen CC Cream Review

I blogged a preview of some new Etude releases back in March (post here if you wanna check it out) and this cc was one of the things I was lemming after. So after umming and ahhing about, I just went and bought it, because it was seriously haunting me, lol.

So anyway, the Moistfull Super Collagen CC Cream was at the top of the list of CC creams I wanted to try. It's a 3 in 1 formula, with whitening, sun protection, and anti-wrinkle properties.

Etude claims this cc cream creates a vibrant and healthy looking complexion, which hydrates as well as firms skin, with it's 30% collagen formula.

Having dryer skin, I'm always attracted to anything which claims to be hydrating, so the words 'Super' and 'Moistfull' captivated me immediately.

The CC Cream is quite attractively packaged in gold and apricot tones. It has a pump function which makes it nice and hygienic, though it may be problematic to retrieve the cream once it's nearly empty.

What makes this cc cream a little unusual is that it's not colour changing - which is the one characteristic that cc creams are known for. Instead of grey or white with colour changing beads in the formula, the Moistfull CC comes in two already coloured shades.

It's light and a little watery in texture, and finishes with a slightly glossy and moist finish

Because of this, I can't help but think of this CC as more of a BB instead!

The formula is light and a little runny - it has a little bit of a glossy texture too.

It can be applied with fingers, but I notice that the finish is so much more natural if applied with a lightly damp sponge. With fingers, the finish tends to look more like foundation, but with sponge the finish looks more natural. Both methods are fine though, it just depends on what look you're going for!

One layer doesn't quite conceal redness or blemishes around my nose/mouth

Coverage wise, like most cc creams, it'll help even out uneven skintone, but won't conceal acne blemishes, redness or dark under eyes. It can tame redness, especially if you add another layer, but it won't cover it completely. Blemishes will need concealer over the top. I'd say this is a light coverage product overall.

As for the finish - I both love and hate it. The finish looks really lovely - it makes skin look brightened, fresh, and radiant, which I just adore. But, and it's a big but, the finish is quite moist, shall we say? And by moist I mean it smudges really easily, and as a result isn't particularly sweatproof or longwearing. You absolutely cannot touch your face as it will just smear T_T

It's a real shame, because I do really, really love the glowy and radiant finish!

Applied with sponge

Despite the lack of lasting power, I do admit I still reach for this very often. I just love how it brightens my skin, and makes it look naturally radiant! If I'm only going to be out a few hours, or if I just want a natural look for the day, I'll just reach for this instead of my higher coverage bbs.

I was so, so close to loving this - if only the formula wasn't so smudgeable >.<

As much as I love how this looks on my skin, I can't give this my full stamp of approval since it smudges and wears off too easily. I'll have no problems finishing this off, but I doubt I'll repurchase.

But if you do happen to like the look of it and want to try it anyway, Beautynetkorea does sell sample sachets of this, as well as the full size version ^^

If you have any cc cream recs, let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading lovelies, chat to you soon!

  1. I was super excited to learn more about this product and was loving everything about it until you mentioned that it’s not long lasting and smudges… it’s a shame because it looks really good on you and has a very natural finish. But I’m sure it wouldn’t be good for my oily skin. I guess I can search for another CC cream to try.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review!

  3. Aw darn. What's the point of it looking nice if it's just gonna smudge? =(

  4. I bought one last month, the cream is perfect but the pump doesn't work well. That's the only thing I disappointed.

  5. It sounds like a really interesting cream and looks nice on you. I'm undecided about collagen creams - do they actually do anything other than just sit on top of your skin? Can they really make a difference?

  6. Hmmm, I wasn't a fan of cc creams until very recently as I look for coverage in my bases. CC creams generally don't provide much coverage, however they're great for evening and brightening skin tone - I like them because they feel light, look natural, and are great for lazy makeup days. CC creams claim to have skincare benefits too (SPF, whitening, anti-wrinkles etc), but most bb creams claim that anyway!
