Hi lovelies! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (or holiday)! I definitely ate too much...haha.
Today I'm bringing you a skincare product review from Korean brand Shara Shara. I don't know much about them, but they look like a cute brand ^_^
I have their Snail Source Repai Ampoule to show you today - it's a serum or essence like product, containing snail filtrate. Snail filtrate in skincare supposedly helps fight wrinkles, soothes and repairs irritated and reddened skin, and hydrates dull or dry skin. You might remember that a while back I reviewed some Mizon snail filtrate products, which I really liked. So after having positive experiences with snail filtrate products so far, how did this one measure up?
|Notice the tongue poke face? Hehe I find it quite amusing for some reason!|
The essence is housed in a slim plastic tube, and the essence is squirted out via a pump. I guess the only thing I don't like about it is that you can't tell when the essence is nearly finished.
Snail filtrate is not the only featured ingredient in this essence - it also contains extracts from a number of flowers, chosen for their soothing and protective abilities. Together with snail filtrate the essence offers wrinkle care, soothes and repairs the skin, and revitalises and protects the skin.
Here's what the essence looks like - I was very surprised at first because I was expecting something more...sticky? It's actually quite thin and watery.
The most notable thing about this essence is the very nice scent - it's a fresh and floral scent that I really like. It's noticeable once you squirt it out, but it's not overpowering and it doesn't linger, since the essence sinks into your skin pretty much within seconds.
I use this in place of toner - I just squirt 2 times onto the palm of my hand, rub my palms together and then press my palms to my face. You could use a cotton pad, but I find that a bit wasteful.
It feels nice and cooling on the skin, and sinks in quickly. It hydrated my skin a little too.
I feel like it makes a nice little addition to my current snail care skincare regime, and it's a simple way to boost the amount of snail filtrate in my skincare without much effort. However, it's a bit pricey for what it is - which is essentially a toner with some healing and soothing properties in it.
This ampoule is nice if you're already using other snail filtrate products and want to have even more in your regime, but I don't think it's a must have otherwise. Alternatively if you're really keen to try something with snail filtrate in it, but freak out at the thought of it, this would be nice to use because it doesn't even vaguely feel like it would have snail filtrate in it - it just feels like any normal essence or toner!
You can check out this ampoule on Beautynetkorea here, where it retails for around $16USD, and you can check out more Shara Shara products there too.
Does anyone else use an ampoule in their skincare routine? Do you think they make a difference?
Thanks for reading lovelies.
