Shara Shara Snail Source Repair Ampoule *sponsored product*

Shara Shara Snail Source Repair Ampoule Review

Hi lovelies! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (or holiday)! I definitely ate too much...haha.

Today I'm bringing you a skincare product review from Korean brand Shara Shara. I don't know much about them, but they look like a cute brand ^_^

I have their Snail Source Repai Ampoule to show you today - it's a serum or essence like product, containing snail filtrate. Snail filtrate in skincare supposedly helps fight wrinkles, soothes and repairs irritated and reddened skin, and hydrates dull or dry skin. You might remember that a while back I reviewed some Mizon snail filtrate products, which I really liked. So after having positive experiences with snail filtrate products so far, how did this one measure up?

The packaging is so cute - Shara Shara's done well to make this product cute to look at. I really like the vivid colours on the packaging, and the ampoule itself is a bright and fresh green.

Notice the tongue poke face? Hehe I find it quite amusing for some reason!

The essence is housed in a slim plastic tube, and the essence is squirted out via a pump. I guess the only thing I don't like about it is that you can't tell when the essence is nearly finished.

Ingredients List

Snail filtrate is not the only featured ingredient in this essence - it also contains extracts from a number of flowers, chosen for their soothing and protective abilities. Together with snail filtrate the essence offers wrinkle care, soothes and repairs the skin, and revitalises and protects the skin.

Shara Shara Snail Source Repair Ampoule Review

Here's what the essence looks like - I was very surprised at first because I was expecting something more...sticky? It's actually quite thin and watery.

The most notable thing about this essence is the very nice scent - it's a fresh and floral scent that I really like. It's noticeable once you squirt it out, but it's not overpowering and it doesn't linger, since the essence sinks into your skin pretty much within seconds.

I use this in place of toner - I just squirt 2 times onto the palm of my hand, rub my palms together and then press my palms to my face. You could use a cotton pad, but I find that a bit wasteful.

It feels nice and cooling on the skin, and sinks in quickly. It hydrated my skin a little too.

I feel like it makes a nice little addition to my current snail care skincare regime, and it's a simple way to boost the amount of snail filtrate in my skincare without much effort. However, it's a bit pricey for what it is - which is essentially a toner with some healing and soothing properties in it.

This ampoule is nice if you're already using other snail filtrate products and want to have even more in your regime, but I don't think it's a must have otherwise. Alternatively if you're really keen to try something with snail filtrate in it, but freak out at the thought of it, this would be nice to use because it doesn't even vaguely feel like it would have snail filtrate in it - it just feels like any normal essence or toner!

You can check out this ampoule on Beautynetkorea here, where it retails for around $16USD, and you can check out more Shara Shara products there too.

Does anyone else use an ampoule in their skincare routine? Do you think they make a difference?

Thanks for reading lovelies.

xoxo Tulip

  2. I never tried any Shara Shara product and haven't heard much about them too lol. I think this product sounds interesting because of the nice smell and cooling effect, it reminds me a bit of a mist haha I wonder if it can be used as one as well. I haven't tried any snail products yet but was planning to, did the snail filtrate creams/ampoules/essences etc made your acne scars fade a bit faster? ;__;
And I used an ampoule in my skincare routine a while back for 1 month or so and it didn't make a visible difference to me, maybe I just used the wrong one T__T
Anyways, thanks for this review again, Tulip~ you're me favorite blogger from all the bloggers who are more active here >~<

  3. I've never tried Shara Shara products but this one certainly looks interesting. I think Shara Shara is known to have really cute (but not necessarily girly like Etude House) packaging. It's surprising that it's so watery though! I've tried a couple of products that contain snail filtrate and they were all sticky at some degree. Thank you for this review Tulip ^^

  11. From what I've seen Shara Shara does have some very cute packaging - especially some of their perfumes ^_^
Yeah, I've only seen ampoules with droppers too so this pump packaging is new to me too. It works quite well too.

  12. I've only seen one Shara Shara review before and it was on their perfume which is shaped like a doll (it's really cute!). I'm not sure if this ampoule could be used as a mist - it sounds nice! But I have seen some snail filtrate mists online before ^_^
I didn't notice the snail products make my acne scars fade faster, but my skin does scar very easily, and they last a while too T_T I still like them because they made my skin more brighter and smoother overall, and it helps minimise my breakouts too.
Hmm, I guess the trick is to find the right type of ampoule for what you want. I think some ampoules are good for hydrating dry skin, but I'm not sure about claims of anti-ageing and skin repair and such, but who knows, maybe it depends on the quality of the ingredients in the product *shrugs*
Aww, thank you Mindy! That's really nice to hear!

  13. I find ampoules quite fascinating in general, so to try one with snail filtrate was pretty cool. I love cute packaging, so I definitely need to check out more of what Shara Shara does!
Yes I was surprised by the watery texture too! But I like it because if it were sticky it'd take longer to absorb.
    Thanks for reading!

  22. May I ask how to purchase this product from?
    I'm from Malaysia :)

  23. Hi, I can only purchase this on-line. I like to buy it from ebay seller f2plus1 since they're reliable, and the price is similar to retail price in Korea. Hope this helps!

  24. Hi there. Im interested in snail ampoules because they have much higher snail filtrate. I was wondering about what's the percentage of this one? looking forward to your reply. :)
