Etude House Princess Etoinette Season 2 Crystal Shine Lips Lipstick Review *sponsored products*

Etude House Princess Etoinette 2013 Cyrstal Shine Lipsticks Review

Hey pretties! I'm back with another Etude House review, and I'm excited to share with you my review on the Crystal Shine Lips Lipsticks from Etude's latest limited Winter 2013 Collection - Princess Etoinette Season 2

This year's Etoinette Collection only contained 3 lipsticks versus the 8 shades from last year, but the colours are just gorgeous, and seem more vivid compared to the more softer colours of last season.

These three lipsticks were generously provided to me by Beautynet Korea, who are usually amongst the first to stock Etude's latest collections (and at reasonable prices too), so if you're an Etude-a-holic like me you better just bookmark their website, cos you'll be checking them out often ^_^

Anyway, prepare for a somewhat picture heavy post ahead! But can you blame me? Just look at how cute and pretty these lipsticks are!

The Princess Etoinette Collection is quite possibly one of Etude's most romantic and packaging focused collections - think Marie Antoinette meets LadurĂ©e, but more budget friendly. Anything from this or last year's collection is just going to look darling on your dressing table!

The Crystal Shine Lipsticks are smooth, slightly shimmering lipsticks encased in curved, white tubes embossed with princess-y silver detailing. They don't look luxe to me, but they are very pretty to look at.

Etude always puts so much effort in the outside disposable packaging - it makes it hard to throw it out!

The only way to differentiate the colours is by the bottom of the tube

Woohoo - these lippies have a life of 18 months before expiry!

Etude calls these smooth and moisturising lipsticks, which provide a soft shimmer. I'd have to agree with that - the lipsticks glide on easily, and have a 'balmy' texture that's smooth and easy to apply. They're a bit similar to the Revlon Lip Butters, but not quite as buttery.

I really like textures like these as they hydrate, but provide opaque cover at the same time! Of course if you like matte lippies these will be too slick for your taste. Check out the Dear My Blooming Lips or Color Pop ranges instead, if you like a more cream or matte type lippie!

Sip of Wine and Precious Etoinette Peony are more opaque at first swipe, compared to the nude shade Moon Flower Under the Stars.

I found the lasting power okay but not amazing - due to the slick texture it will smudge off easier when eating/drinking, but if you leave your lips alone they can last 3-4 hours (the glossiness will fade around the 2.5 - 3 hour mark, but leave a stain behind, except for the nude shade)

One light swipe each~

Under sunlight - you can see the balmy texture of these better, & how moisturising and glossy they look here

Moon Flower Under the Stars was sheerer at first swipe, and made my lip lines a bit more noticeable. It also will emphasise any lip flakes/dryness, so prep well! However it's a gorgeous nude shade - I'm not one to wear nudes usually, but I found this one very wearable - maybe because it has a pinky hue to it.

But if you have more pigmented lips like me, you won't be able to build up the colour too much as the slick texture means you're just 'sliding' the lippie around your lips rather then colouring them.

Scent wise, I could only detect the barest rose fragrance.

I forgot that these lippies are supposed to have shimmer in them - the formula is not noticeably shimmery at all, and what shimmer there is is very fine. They provide a glossy look to the lips depending on the lighting.

Check these lippies out (this year's, or if you're into softer shades take a look at last year's selections) if you like smooth, balmy lipsticks with a glossy finish - and if you like cute princess-y packaging :P

You can grab these Crystal Shine Lipsticks here, retailing at just under $14 USD
