Etude House Princess Etoinette Winter 2013 Collection Preview

Well hello lovelies! I'm in a bit of a tizz right now as I've just seen Etude House's newest release - it kind of came out of nowhere, as you know we had the highly hyped Minnie x Etude Collaboration released just 2 months ago!

I was wondering how Etude would have the time to prepare a Christmas Collection, but well here it is! And yes, you would recognise that this collection is not quite new...instead it's a rehaul and revamp of last year's Winter/Christmas collection concept - it's Princess Etoinette Part 2, haha.

They've gone with white rather than pink packaging this year. At first glance it seems as there are less items compared to last year's (ie, only 3 lipsticks compared to last year's 8!), however Etude has introduced some new and more pricier items, such as a hair mist, two  (10 shade) eyeshadow palettes, and an Eau De Toilette to distract us.

Super long post ahead...

I always, always look forward to any lipsticks Etude House releases - I just can't help it! So naturally I'm going to introduce the new Etoinette lipsticks first ^_^

There are only 3 shades this year - a relief really, as it means I have less to lust over haha.  The princess-y packaging is as cute in white as it was in pink. The three shades are a nude beige, a gold shimmered red, and a pink shade with a purply undertone.

Hmm, I wonder if 'phoney' is meant to be 'peony'?

I'm definitely after shade PPK005! It's sooo pretty <3

The second item I'm eyeing off is the all over powder. It's exactly the same packaging as last year's Etoinette Highlighter powder, except with silver detailing rather than gold. The all over powder is basically highlighter, but marketed for all over use - such as face powder, body powder, lip shimmer, and face highlighter.

I remember that although many Etude lovers loved the packaging of last year's powder, they did find the actual highlighter too shimmery?

I don't know how shimmery this year's powder is, though it looks more champagne coloured, rather than silvery. I prefer champagne/gold coloured highlighters over silver, so that's why I'm liking the look of this one (even though I have 3402073021 highlighters already, lol)~

I'm not particularly interested in Etude's haircare products, but this fragranced hair mist is prettily packaged, and sounds lovely. It's a decent size too, at 120ml.

Another new edition to the Princess Etoinette collection is an eau de toilette! It's quite cute - I like the shape of the bottle ^_^

I prefer floral fruity fragrances though, so this doesn't really appeal to me, and I don't like to buy fragrances unscented beforehand. I'm so curious as to how it smells though!

These handcreams have the most prettiest packaging! I love it! And they're decently sized too, at 70ml. These would make fab X-mas gifts/stocking fillers, I think.

There are two new candles in the collection too - these would also make lovely gifts.

And that's it - this is Winter 2013's Princess Etoinette Collection!

And if you can believe it, there don't seem to be any nail items in this collection! I'm rather surprised, as Etude is always releasing nail polishes, nail art/deco in practically every collection. Did they forget? Run out of time?

I'm still sorting out my feelings about this collection. I like the white packaging over last year's pink as it looks slightly classier, and I definitely do want some of the items. However I don't think I'm as gaga over this collection compared to last year.

I can't decide how I feel about Etude's reuse of last year's concept either! Would've I have preferred a romantic new concept for this Christmas/Winter collection? Hmmm....

Sites selling this collection (or most of it, couldn't find the handcreams or candles being sold yet)

*will add more sites as I find them*

Also wanted to show two new eyeshadow sets Etude recently released (I think a week or two ago)

It seems like Etude is beginning to venture more into eyeshadow palettes now, especially after their And Rose Collection. These 10 shadow palettes are a mix of matte and shimmery shades - very Christmassy, aren't they, with all that shimmer?

Set 1 is the more unusual of the two, with some rather interesting colours - hello Red eyeshadow! I'd say this would be a nice palette to use for smoky evening eyes~

Ehehe, there's a shade called French Kiss?  A bit risqué for Etude, isn't it?
 ^_^

Set 2 is right up my alley! It's got more neutral shades (though still pretty shimmery). It looks like such a pretty and girly palette <3

*Want* *Want* *Want*

Try getting it off Cosmetic Love - it seems to be the best price there right now due to a 15% off sale~

Sooo....what do you think about the 'new' Princess Etoinette collection lovelies?

I don't know if I'm indulging - too broke at the moment haha. But if I could, I'd get the pink lipstick and the highlighter, and also the eyeshadow set 2 from the Play Colour release ^_^

  2. The nude lipstick looks nice, but the only thing I really want is the pink hand cream! Shame it doesn't seem to be around anywhere yet.

  3. The packaging is definitely really classy. Maybe last year's princess' older sister would use these. :P I agree that this collection is a little less exciting than the previous ones. The eyeshadow palettes do seem to be really pretty though and I'm loving the packaging for the toilette. I wish I could smell it before buying though! =w=

  5. The Princess theme is really pretty, and the packaging almost has a Laduree vibe (though not quite as expensive looking!). I so want to indulge T_T
    Thanks for reading!

  7. Hehe Princess's older sister, I like that ^_^
The Antoinette inspired concept is just gorgeous, but I would've liked to see a few different changes instead of the exact same packaging only in white and silver >_<
I'm so curious about the scent of the toilette!

  8. It'd be a nice X-mas treat, that's for sure! I think the powder's not something I need, but the packaging is just so pretty! I love the look of the eyeshadows - I might end up getting that later ^_^

  14. It's really classy isn't it? Hehe, lippies are probably the more exciting products, aside from nail items in a collection!
