Sanctuary Spa Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

Hi lovelies! Today you're getting a review on a cleanser that I am absolutely loving at the moment! You would've seen this featured in my Skincare Routine post, but I'll be able to give you more in depth info on it today.

It's from a brand I'm obsessed with at the moment, called Sanctuary Spa, and if the name sounds familiar to you, it's because it's an actual spa in the UK, and supposedly very popular too. I guess the treatments at the spa were so popular, they decided to start selling their range, so those of us who can't have a fancy-schmancy spa treatment can treat ourselves in the comfort of our own homes ^_^

I started off with trying the Facial Oil as a replacement for my rosehip oil, and was so impressed I kept going back to try other Sanctuary Spa products. And now, I somehow seemed to have amassed my own little mini spa in my bathroom. Anyways, my fave Sanctuary Spa product so far has to be the Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser.

The cleanser is part of the Brightening range, which you can tell by the pretty green packaging. <--- hey, it matches my blog layout, lol.

I'd never heard of a hot cloth cleanser before, so I was really intrigued. It claims to open the pores to deep cleanse, while also acting as a gentle exfoliator. And it has some rather exotic sounding ingredients such as beeswax and gold of pleasure oil (don't know what that is, but doesn't it sound divine?), which help to moisturise and condition the skin.

I was very curious to see what the polishing cloth was going to look like - actually it looks exactly like a white handkerchief. But once you use it to 'polish' your skin, you can feel it's a little rougher than a handkerchief, and it definitely lightly exfoliates the skin.

The cleanser itself is a really nice cream cleanser - the cream comes out of the tube a bit thick, but once applied to damp skin it sort of melts and thins out. It's very gentle, and feels nice as you massage it in. The most notable thing about it is the scent - it sort of smells like tart green apples, with an undertone of something like aroma-therapeutic scents.

Instructions

The whole hot cloth cleansing experience is more time consuming than regular cleansing, but I've grown to love the whole process a lot. Instead of a hindrance it's become my me time as it's so incredibly soothing.

And my skin looks sooo good afterwards - brighter, smoother, pores smaller. I love it!

I have dry-normal skin, and I can use this daily (every evening) without any issues - no redness, dryness, irritation, at all. Sometimes I do get lazy and don't use the cloth, but I do try to do the hot cloth cleansing at least 4 days a week.

I highly, highly recommend this cleanser - it's Holy Grail status to me <3

Sanctuary Spa is exclusively stocked by Priceline, and retails for $19.99 - but there's always good sales on it, so keep an eye out!

Have you tried the hot cloth cleansing process before? What cleanser are you loving at the moment?

Thanks for reading - catch ya later!

  5. Ohh, I like the sounds of this! I've never used a hot cloth before. Good to hear it doesn't leave your face feeling irritated or red. I love face products that make the skin feeling smooth so might look into this. Going to wait till Priceline has a sale =)

  8. After reading your review I feel guilty that I've never given Sanctuary Spa a chance. Sounds like they could have some really good products! I don't know why but I also just ignore their section in the stores ^_^"

  10. For some reason the term "hot cloth" reminded me of those Asian products that warm up to relieve muscle pains... LOL. This is quite an unusual product and I've never any Sanctuary Spa products except for their bb cream (which I dislike). I wonder if it'd be just as good since I have oily skin

  11. I ought his during the priceline skin are sale, and I'm also in love with it! The whole process is so relaxing and feels like a pamper session as you said. I was afraid it was going to be a bit heavy for my combo skin but I haven't had any breakouts from this, I think. Just wondering, how often do you wash your muslin cloth?

...I'm a bit bad, and only wash it once a week (even though the instructions say to wash it every 2 uses...

  22. Haha, it does sort of sound like that! Speaking of, Sanctuary Spa does a sugar scrub that warms up when you massage it! I have that too, lol. I can imagine that'd be good for relieving muscle aches ^_^
I think this'd work nice for oily skin too!

  23. I never notice them in the stores either, until I saw their facial oil recommended on a beauty website ^_^
From then on it was a slippery slope, and now I have a fair amount of their products!
