Chocolate drip nail art (for all chocoholics)

Hi everyone, hope you're having a wonderful day - whether you're celebrating V-Day or not.

I just wanna show you my first set of (painstakingly) deco'ed false nail tips. They're kinda suitable for a fun, and playful V-Day look, if you have that type of personality. I just did them because I love sweets!

This set is meant to look like chocolate dipped nails - chocolate smothered ice-cream, topped with rainbow sprinkles. Take a look ~ do you think I did an okay job?

I don't have any strawberry ice cream atm, so these biscuits will have to do ^^

Original Source: hudie.com

This is a the tutorial that I used, but I chose pink instead of white as the base~
I don't know which magazine it's from since I only kept a few pages that I liked.

Haha, yep I mounted the nail tips onto toothpicks with blu-tack so I could easily hold them up and paint them.

Before the deco - next time I need to use a runnier varnish, and drag the drip lower because the rhinestones ended up covering a lot~

The items used - I had to mix a hot pink with a light pink, and white varnish to get the colour I wanted. The rhinestones I randomly found on my shelf, and I've already ordered more online ^^

I'm really pleased with the result, though there are a few minor stuff-ups here and there. I'll do a notd post when I get my nail adhesives, since I don't want to use nail glue to attach them.

Thanks for reading, hope you have a fabulous day!

  25. WOW! looks like candy! I've always been curious about people who do this to their nails.. I mean, isn't there a danger of the pieces or rhinestones falling off the nail? What do you do when you're taking a bath, or cooking food? it simply puzzles me @_@

i saw your comments on my blog and how you inserted the poupee girl widget. it's been a great help! i can't believe it's actually really simple to do! thank you for that! :D it's quite obvious how noob i am XDDD

  30. Yeah false nails certainly can be cumbersome! Apparantly it can make it hard to even zip up, or button clothing, lol. I'm just gonna attach them with double sided tape so I can take them off easily.

No worries, I had to actually google how to add the widget before I could do it!
