December's Spendings - Beauty & Fashion Haul

Ahh December - the month of shopping, spending, and bargains. Here's the next instalment of my monthly beauty and fashion loot~

This month I made my very first ASOS order! They were having a pretty huge sale on shoes, and being the shoeaholic that I am, I could hardly say no.

The parcel took about 2 weeks to arrive, and it came exactly on the day noted on the receipt - Christmas Eve! It totally made my day - it was like a little gift to myself :)

Diamond Lash - Feminine Eye Review

Hi there!

I hope everyone had/is having a lovely Christmas holiday! Today I'm going to give a review on the next set of Diamond Lash falsies I have in my collection - the Feminine Eye lower lashes. I've already reviewed the Dolly Eye, and the Angel Eye falsies previously.

Diamond Lash falsies are produced by Japanese cosmetics brand Diamond Beauty, and are very well known as the perfect trendy, and budget conscious falsies for creating big, dramatic dolly eyes.

*btw, I put the lid on wrong in the photo above, so the font is upside down!*

Vassen Diamond 3 Tone Brown Circle Lens Review *sponsored product post*

Hello! I have a new circle lens review to share with you today, which has kindly been sponsored by LoveShoppingholics (formerly known as Shoppingholics). They sell a big range of circle lenses, as well as a lot of pretty makeup and other beauty accessories.

This review is on the very pretty Vassen Diamond 3 Tone lenses, in brown. The pattern is very striking, resembling the many facets of a diamond, giving a 'sparkle' effect to the eyes. They're quite lovely!

MISSHA Creamy Latte Chocolate Cleansing Foam Review

Hi everyone! Today I want to do a review on the cleanser I've been using recently - the irresistibly sweet Creamy Latte Chocolate Cleansing Foam, from MISSHA. *wowser, that's a long name!*

Being a bit of a chocoholic, I just had to try this one out - and the $6.88 price tag didn't hurt either. Yep, that's right, you get 172 ml worth of product for less than $7.

Tony Moly CatChu Wink Lipstick - Peach Vanilla Review

Hi all, how's everyone?

Today I have a lipstick review ^^

I don't know if it's because I'm getting older, or if I'm simply feeling more adventurous, but I have been really interested in lipsticks lately. I've worn lipstick most of this week, and that's more times than I have in my whole life to date! Anyway, one of the lipsticks I have recently purchased is this quirky cute, cat-shaped lipstick.

For such a little thing it's got a super long name - the Tony Moly CatChu Wink Lipstick,  in Peach Vanilla (or Shade 1).

Lioele Blooming Shimmer Pearl Base Review

Hello! It's time for another review, and this time it's on a Lioele liquid highlighter, that I am absolutely loving so much at the moment - the Blooming Shimmer Pearl Base <3

I think most of you know by now that I'm crazy about highlighters, I think they're my most important must have item after bb cream! I don't have great skin, but I can fake it with a good highlighter ^_^

By placing highlighter on the highest points of your face (where the sunlight will hit) you can easily achieve fresh and radiant skin.

I love this Lioele highlighter because it has such an incredibly natural finish - it literally melds into your base (foundation or bb cream), so it basically just looks like you have naturally luminous skin.

November's beauty and fashion goodies

Time for another monthly goodies post, where I get to show you everything I hauled in the month of November.

Liese Prettia Bubble Hair Dye - Marshmallow Brown, and Milk Tea Brown

I've been wanting to try Japanese branded hair dyes for awhile, I've been trying to go lighter with my hair for a few months now and the western hair brands I've been using just aren't cutting it. I really, really hope this brand will do it for me!

After looking at the Liese hair charts, I was immediately smitten with Marshmallow Brown. It's the 2nd lightest brown dye in the range. The Milk Tea Brown is supposed to be one of the most popular colours, and is the lightest brown dye in the range - this one is for my sis.

LIOELE Dollish Veil Vita BB Cream Review - Natural Green *sponsored product post*

Hey lovelies, I've got a very cool bb cream I'd like to review for you today. It's actually my number one most used bb cream at the moment - quite shocking, since I'm a hardcore Etude House bb cream fan!

The bb cream I'm currently loving very much is the Lioele Dollish Veil Vita blemish balm, which has kindly been sent to me for review purposes from my favourite, favourite online store Cosmetic Love. I've been a regular customer of them for about a year now, and I highly recommend them as they stock all sorts of popular Korean cosmetics brands, have great prices, and are generous with their free samples ^_^

So, what really captured my attention with this Dollish Vita bb cream is that it is green in colour! But don't worry, it doesn't stay that way for long - it adapts to your own skin tone within mere minutes. It's fantastic news for those who have difficulty finding a good bb cream based only on online swatches.

Barbie Puffy 3 Tone (Brown) Circle Lens & Hello Kitty BB Cream Review *sponsored products post*

Hello my lovely readers, today I have two reviews for you~

UNIQSO has kindly sent me a pair of circle lenses and a new bb cream to try, so I'm super-duper excited to share with you my thoughts.

The circle lenses I received are the intriguing Barbie Puffy 3 Tone lenses in brown, and the bb cream is a Hello Kitty one. Yes, Hello Kitty has her own range of bb creams!

MISSHA Signature Real Complete BB Cream #21 (light pink beige)

Hi all! Here's my review on the second MISSHA bb cream I own - the Signature Real Complete.

Before I had purchased this bb cream, I had already tried a few samples of this before, and had been quite impressed. Unfortunately, after I tried this I was surprised and disappointed to see that the sample bb cream differed to the full sized product - mostly colour-wise. But, more on that later.

The shade I purchased is number 21 (light pink beige), and is the second lightest in the range. I believe there are three shades overall.

MISSHA Perfect Cover BB Cream Review - Shade # 21 (light pink beige)

Hi everyone, it's time for another bb cream review -  I have here the MISSHA Perfect Cover BB Cream, which is probably the most blogged about bb cream ever!

CIRCLE LENS REVIEW: GEO Tri Colour Violet (14mm)

Hey everyone! As you can see, today's post is a circle lens review. These are violet coloured lenses from the GEO Tri Colour range. Although prettily patterned, these lenses languished unopened in my drawer for quite a while, since I discovered I much prefer to wear lenses with a diameter of 14.5mm or more.

Nevertheless, I opened them up recently when I was feeling bored :)

Face of Australia Lip Quench Review - Lychee Crush & Iced Almond

L: Iced Almond. R: Lychee Crush

Hi gorgeous girls, today's review is on two lipsticks from Aussie brand, Face of Australia. It's quite rare of me to do lippie reviews, ain't it? I usually just like bare lips with a coat of Vaseline, or more recently, lips coated with one of my Maybelline Baby Lip tubes. But since I've had these FOA lippies for quite some months now, I decided to get off my butt and do the review.

These lipsticks created a bit of a buzz when they were first released, for their very affordable price, the gorgeous range of colours, and the moisturising properties. Each tube contains jojoba oil, vitamin e, shea butter, and SPF 30+ to keep lips lush and lovely.

I like a subtle colour, and wanted lippies that were lighter than my more pinkish lips, so I went for Iced Almond, and Lychee Crush (which has garnered many positive reviews on the blogosphere).

October's beauty buys - What, no Korean goodies?!

Hi lovelies, it's time for another monthly haul post! As the title states, October was sadly lacking in any hauling of cute Korean cosmetics - shock horror!

...actually, I did buy some, but they are still en-route, so you shall have to wait to see some pretty Korean cosmetics in the November beauty buys edition :)

Anyhow, I still do have some lovely new things on my dressing table~

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, Healthy Mix Concealer, and Healthy Mix Foundation - all in Shade 51

Some of you will remember that I picked up the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation in last month's haul post, so you may be wondering why I have a picture of it again this month. Well, it turns out that I'm really horrid at swatching, as the shade I bought was actually too dark for my skin!

Luckily Priceline recently had a 30% off sale, so I was able to buy the foundation in shade 51 - and I also decided to treat myself and also picked up the Healthy Mix Serum (a gel foundation, supposedly), and the matching concealer (totally love it!).

Bourjois Smoky Eye Trio Review - Rose Vintage

Hi lovelies! How are you today?

I'm reviewing an eye palette that I've been using recently - you'll have seen it in some of my recent FOTD posts already. It's the Smoky Eyes palette in Rose Vintage, from one of my new favourite cosmetics brand, Bourjois.

I got this eye palette as a GWP promotion, and I have to say I'm quite enamoured with the pretty colours. Being not particularly brave when it comes to eyeshadows, I'm quite pleased to expand from my previous go-to eye colour (a simple sweep of champagne over the eyelid), and introduce some fresh and pretty colours, suitable for Spring.

GEO Xtra Bella Brown Circle Lens Review (15mm)

Today's review is one one of the main pairs of circle lenses I am currently wearing - and which have been appearing in most of my more recent blog posts. They are the Extra Bella Brown lenses, from Geo, and I am liking them quite a bit!

They're not the most natural, nor the most heavily patterned, eyecatching lenses, but I find myself really enjoying the chocolate brown colour, and the striking, light brown 'dandelion' outline inside.

Yay, the weekend's finally here! A FOTD & OOTD post~

Hiya, I've got a FOTD and sort of an OOTD post to share with you today! I was feeling in the mood for a light and feminine look so here's what I came up with~

Here's a snapshot of the products used in my FOTD...most of these items you'll have seen before - I definitely like to stick with a really simple makeup routine, which doesn't vary too much. I guess the only variations come from the type of lashes to wear, or the colours I put on my eyelids.

Bloom Prep and Prime Primer (not pictured)
Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream
Lioele Shimmer Base Highlighter
Australis Make Up Finishing Spritz

GEO Extra Bella Brown circle lenses
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara - waterproof
1000 Hour Individual false lashes 10mm
Bourjois Smoky Eye Trio - Rose Vintage

Etude House Drawing Eye Brow pen - Black/Brown

Maybelline Baby Pink - Baby Glow

It was my first time using individual false lashes, and I have to say it nearly drove me crazy trying to put them on. I guess I'm just not very good with handling tweezers!

Etude House Aloha V-Line Slim Maker 01 (Sun Gold/Wood Brown) Review

Aloha, everybody!

Today's review is on a face highlighter - one of my beauty must-haves! I do love the pretty glow that face highlighters/illuminators provide me, whilst giving my wider, flatter face a bit of dimension.

The highlighter I am currently using is one from Etude House, and is called the Aloha V-Line Slim Maker. It is a face highlight, plus face contour - hence the 'slim maker' name.

Another month, another beauty haul post~! September's finds

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation #52
$32, plus GWP

After becoming a hardcore bb cream convert for a long time already, I've gone and purchased a foundation - my first in about a year and a half! To be truthful, though I do love my bb creams, these past few months I've been becoming a little bit...bored? So I went ahead and bought the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, after seeing a free gift with purchase promotion at Priceline (aka the vortex in which my money always disappears into).

I heard that some Bourjois foundation shades are quite suitable for yellow Asian skintones, and I've also been dying to try some Bourjois products because they are a sister company to Chanel. $32 for a 30ml drugstore branded foundation seemed a bit steep for me, but the GWP gave me the incentive to go ahead and buy it. The GWP was a cute little pink and white striped cosmetic pouch, a pink nail varnish, a mascara, and a gorgeous trio eyeshadow palette (which I adore).

Etude House Happy Teatime Cleansing Cream Review *Aloe Tea*

Welcome to another review! It's probably not surprising that it's on yet another Etude House product...affordable prices, adorable packaging - what's the point of resisting?

Here I've got the Aloe Tea cleansing cream, part of Etude's Happy Teatime skincare line. I do also have the cleansing foam equivalent, in Peach Tea which has been reviewed here. While I find the cleansing foam to be a great product, it really wasn't suiting my dry Winter skin, so I've switched to the cleansing cream for now. Cleansing creams tend to moisturise as well as cleanse, which is what my skin needs at the moment.

There are three tea variants to choose from - Lemon, Milk, and Aloe. It was a struggle between Aloe and Milk, but I settled for Aloe, because it's known for being quite gentle on the skin.

Talk Nerdy to Me - Geek Chic Glasses from Firmoo *sponsored product post*

My weird kissy-face ^o^
Well, you've seen me embrace my inner grandpa with some awesome tortoiseshell glasses (as seen here), and now I'm ready to embrace my inner geek, with these fashion glasses I recently received from online store, Firmoo

Firmoo is an online store that carries a large range of glasses for gals and guys - which you can tailor to your own satisfaction. As long as you have your current prescription at hand, you can buy fashionable prescription frames at reasonable prices - or if you're like me, you can choose non-prescription frames just for 'fashion' ^_^

DIAMOND LASH - Angel Eye Review

I'm back with a new review, on another Gyaru-style lash set from Diamond Lash. The Angel Eye set is my second DL purchase, after trying the Dolly Eye lashes.

I was a bit puzzled by the name - these lashes are anything but angelic, in my opinion. They're much too dramatic and noticeable!

But then again, there is something about these lashes that do make me think of feathers...hmm.

Hardcore false lash-aholics may be swooning at the sight of these very pretty looking lashes, but beginners, or those not particularly interested in Gyaru-style make-up, may be put off by the sheer length of these. How wearable are these Angel Eye lashes? Keep reading to find out ^_^

Part and Parcel of Being a Girl (the power of cosmetics) *FOTD/Gyaru before and after*

Hi! Something a little different today - a FOTD post! It's been ages since I've done one - but today's special because you get to see the before pic too *eek!*

I decided to go to extra effort with my make-up today, because I needed to take some photos for some upcoming reviews. While I was watermarking some of the photos, I was thinking that 'wow, make-up really makes a difference!' Then it gave me the idea of doing a before and after make-up post, as I've seen these types of posts from other bloggers before. I've never been brave enough, until today...*dun, dun dun*

Continue reading to see what brands/products I used, and the 'before' pic~

FACE MIST REVIEW: My Beauty Diary Orange Blossom and White Lotus Moisturising Mist

Hello, hello - how is everyone? Today's post is another review, this time it's on a cute and little face mist, from My Beauty Diary

I'm really into face spritz/spray/mist thingies right now - partly because I was lured by the claim that they to do all sorts of wonderful things, but mostly because they add a bit of fun to the beauty routine! Oh, how easily amused I am...

Anyway, not all mists have the same function - some claim to set make-up, and others claim to refresh tired skin. This one from MBD is a moisturising mist, so in theory it could be used as a replacement for your normal moisturiser.

But can it? Read on to find out~

SKINCARE REVIEW: TCM - Traditional Chinese Medicine Sleeping Pack

Hi lovely people! Today's review is on a super cheap sleeping pack, that was recently featured in my August Favourites post. A few people expressed some curiosity about these, so I hope that this post will be helpful~

Actually, after using this brand of sleeping packs I discovered that they're quite effective as a pimple cream! That's pretty cool, because I do love a product that's multi-functional, haha.

SKINCARE REVIEW: SKIN79 Crystal Peeling Gel

Hi there!

Today I want to share my review on a new peeling gel I've been using. Peeling gels have become a popular alternative to the traditional exfoliating scrubs on the market, particularly for people with sensitive or problem prone skin, who don't want to deal with the harshness of the beads in some scrubs.

After a bit or research, I decided to settle for the quite affordable Crystal Peeling Gel from SKIN79 - which claims to be suitable even for sensitive skin types (I wanted something gentle).

Giveaway update! New winner announcement~

Okay, so what I did not want to see happen did in fact happen :(

The winner of my giveaway unfortunately has not replied to my email within the 48 hours I had stated. I feel bad, but in order to be fair to the other participants who entered, I've now drawn up a new winner through Rafflecopter.

Congrats to Chelsea R - I hope you're keeping an eye on your email inbox! Don't make me have to re-draw another winner >_<

I've now sent through an email (using the email address you provided), and I do hope you reply back within the next 48 hours.

My August faves AKA my Winter skincare arsenol!

This is my first 'favourites' blog post! Since I almost always stick to the same beauty items month to month, I've not had anything particularly exciting to make a favourites post on.

But last month I ended up trying a fair few new items (since my makeup & skincare is often purchased at the same time, and is used up at the same time - allowing me to try new products every 3 or 4 months). So I guess, don't expect monthly favourites, but maybe expect quarter-yearly favourites instead? Haha...

*PS - the winner of my giveaway has been announced in the post before this one.*

August Beauty Haul Post *image heavy*

Australis - NUDIST eye shadow palette
The poor girl version of the Urban Decay NAKED palette, maybe?

Hi! Welcome to my August beauty haul post~

It seems August was a good month for me, beauty-wise. There were quite a number of sales and clearances happening, so I managed to pick up some interesting products to try for cheap. And for once, this beauty haul is a more a mix of Asian, Australian and US brands :)

I tried to be good, and only made 2 small online orders last month - but that probably meant I spent more in stores instead, to sate my shopping thirst...

August Clothing Haul Post

Hi all, here's my August clothing haul post! Last month was mostly about getting my wardrobe ready for Spring, with an injection of fresh, pretty colours.

FACE PRIMER REVIEW: Etude House Moistfull Collagen Essence-In Primer

Hi there! Welcome to today's review post~

I'm pretty excited about this review, because it's on a product I haven't tried before - a spray on primer! Being a rather lazy person I'm all about make-up that not only works well, but which is also hassle-free to use ^_^

I'm on a face primer kick lately - bb cream works wonders for my skin, but it tends to look about twice as good if I've got a good primer underneath. Since it's wintertime, my skin is in dire need of more hydration than usual, which is where this spritz primer comes in.

Infused with Baobab Tree extract and Collagen, the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Essence-in primer works to moisten complexion, improve foundation adherence, and prevent fading of make-up.

It looks half empty, but the top layer is clear

Random Filler Post 07 *image heavy*

There's something really satisfying about cleaning and re-organising one's dressing table, don't you think? Everything looks so neat and clean...but I wonder how long that'll last >_<

SKINCARE REVIEW - SKIN79 White Reviving Skin Radiance Emulsion

Description - click to enlarge

After my June/July haul post, this SKIN79 emulsion was the one most of you wanted to see a review on first, so here it is ^_^

There aren't many products which I love right away, but this emulsion was love at first sight, and at first use, for me. An emulsion is similar to a moisturiser, but generally is a bit thinner, runnier and lighter than typical creamy moisturisers. Normal, oily, or slightly dry skin types would be fine with just an emulsion in their skin regime, but for a very dry skin type a moisturiser may be needed, before following with an emulsion.

I purchased this off Cosmetic Love, but it's no longer being sold there - I think I paid about $17AUD for it. It has 150ml worth of product.

The claims (as found on the SKIN79 American website, here)

  • "transparent whitening lotion helps skin be clear and transparent!"
  • easy on the skin (suitable for sensitive, dry and dull, blemished, or stressed skin)
  • free from mineral oil, parabens
  • controls the balance of oil and moisture of the skin
  • provides rich moisture, for smoother skin and a brighter complexion

SKINCARE REVIEW: My Beauty Diary - Apple Polyphenol Sheet Masks

Brand: My Beauty Diary, Apple Polyphenol
Function/s: pore tightening, hydration
Best suits skin type/s: all skin types, but especially skin with visible pores
Price: about $13 on Sasa (10 sheets)

The Apple Polyphenol sheet masks have a refreshing green apple scent, that's perfect for summer use. Nano mild Hibiscus acid tightens pores, while Alpha Hydroxy Acid prevents and corrects pores.

Chill the sheets in the fridge beforehand, for an extra cooling sensation in the summer time.

Pho Quang Temple - Marangaroo Buddhist Cultural Centre

So, my Grandfather's funeral was yesterday morning. Even though he'd been ill for several years, and even though I thought I was prepared, it still hurt so much when he passed away. He was a constant presence in my life - his wide grin, his love of animals and nature, and the way he doted on us grandkids are what I will always think of, when I remember him.

I'll even remember that one time when I was little, when he dropped bright pink bubble gum  he was chewing, into my hair while I was sitting on his lap, fondly. Luckily we were able to remove it without chopping off a hunk of my hair - but it was a close call >_<

The funeral was as emotionally difficult as I thought it would be, especially when we had to finally close the coffin, and I realised it would be the last time I would ever see him again. But there was an incredible moment, when a bird flew into the chapel, swooping and chirping. My Grandpa loved birds - we've raised pigeons, canaries (he even domesticated a willy wag tail once), and all sorts of other birds all through my childhood. I think we all believed it was some sort of sign from him.

When we are able to collect his ashes from the funeral parlour, he'll be laid to rest at Pho Quang Temple. Before now, I had no idea this temple even existed, quietly and unassumingly tucked away, in the northern suburbs of Perth. It is a really beautiful place - I could feel the tranquillity the moment I stepped foot on the grounds. For my Grandpa, who loved his garden and nature, I think this will be the perfect resting place.

June & July's Beauty & Clothes Haul Post *image heavy*

Hi lovely people! Today I'm going to do a big beauty and fashion haul post for June and July~

Anyway, I won't be going into too much detail for the following beauty products (I've yet to use some of them!) - you'll just have to wait for the product reviews :)

Etude House - Aloha V-line Slim Maker 01

Etude's v-line highlighter and contour came onto my radar shortly after I dropped my old highlighter :(

I was attracted by the 2 in 1 product - a lovely pale gold highlighter, plus a contour. Since getting into make-up I've yet to tackle the skill of face contouring, so I'm looking forward to learning!

EYELINER REVIEW: Tony Moly Backstage Gel Eye Liner (black)

Lately I've taken to wearing eye liner almost daily. It's fast becoming my most important beauty must-have after bb cream and face highlight!

I've always relied on circle lenses and falsies to make my small eyes look much bigger in the past - but it's impossible to wear circle lenses and falsies everyday. Extending the liner past the outer corner, or having a little wing really makes a difference! It might not be as enlarging as circle lenses, but it's a good start.

Anyway, there are different types of eye liners to choose from - pencils, felt tip pens, liquid liners, and gel liners. I've found that I prefer gel eye liners, and this Tony Moly liner is my current one.

Here's my way of saying thanks - 1 lucky winner will receive this giveaway I've prepared~

FACE POWDER REVIEW: Naris Up - Acmedica Oil Control Powder DX (Clear)

Boy, I'm getting tired of all these super long product names!

Especially for 'simple' products like this translucent powder compact, lol. Today's review is on the Naris Up face powder that I've been using for several months now~

It's special claims are (according to Sasa website)

  • perfectly and naturally conceal acne and pores
  • contains sebum absorption power to soak up oiliness, therefore preventing make-up sliding off the face
  • can be applied before sleep (*disclaimer* I have no idea why anyone would do this though!)
  • suitable for all skin types, especially oily and acne prone skin

Another pair of HK glasses! And slightly new hair~

My Hello Kitty glasses recently arrived in the mail - I love them so much already! And I dyed my hair - but it didn't come out as expected. But not bad for a lone, DIY attempt. Will try to go a bit more lighter in a few months.

Just a super short update - will have a more *substantial* post up next time

Hope everyone had/is having a great weekend!

SKINCARE REVIEW: Etude House - Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub

I am a fan of scrubs, but sometimes they can be a bit harsh on my skin - either the exfoliating beads are a bit too big and feel 'scratchy' against the skin ( a big problem for those with problematic skin), or the formula leaves my face feeling dried out afterwards.

Happily, I can report that the Etude baking powder scrub is neither harsh, nor drying!

It's formulated with baking powder to "penetrate, exfoliate and cleanse skin deep within pores, to remove make up and residues", and also includes peppermint to soothe skin. It cleanses effectively, whilst leaving the skin feeling fresh and clean - without that 'oops, I scrubbed too hard and now my face feels stripped!' feeling~

A slice of London & kawaii overload *image heavy*

Ok, so it's not really London T_T

Wedged between two other buildings >_<
Looks cute, no?

But it's the closest I'll be able to get for now! This place is in actual fact, right in the city (Perth), and it's possibly one of my favourite places ever ^_^

Stepping into London Court is almost like stepping into another time and place.

CIRCLE LENS REVIEW: Princess Mimi Almond Brown

Hey everyone! Today's post is a circle lens review ~ it's been a while since I last did one *0*

Generally, I like my circle lenses to have a more obvious design, but every now and then it's nice to have a more subtle look!

These are the ever popular Princess Mimi Almond Browns - lenses that offer a sweet dolly look, while still having a very, almost-natural design.
